We break bread daily.
It is done with family and friends.
It is a term we use casually.
It's a metaphor for having a meal together.
However, in Biblical times, it really meant to break bread.
So why is it important?
Bread was essential to maintain life.
It was a very social act and a time of fellowship.
At the Last Supper, Jesus broke bread with the disciples.
He knew He was going to the cross.
Jesus chose breaking bread for a symbol of what was to come.
His body was broken for us.
Luke 22:19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
Take and break bread
Remember Jesus!
