Just Waiting For The Parade

A victory parade is held to celebrate victory over the enemy.

The United States did it with the allies after WWI and II.

In ancient times the parade was lead by the conquerors
followed by the spoils of war.
Next came the leader of the defeated army
and the captives
and finally, the victorious army.

The defeating army held this procession to make a
public spectacle of the captives.

The Bible lets us know Jesus has already won the battle.

He accomplished this on the cross.

Jesus took our captivity captive.  Ephesians 4:8

Colossians 2:15
He has freed us from the destruction of sin.
Having disarmed principalities
and powers, He made a public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them in it.

Jesus now leads us in victory.

2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be to God who always leads us
in triumph in Christ and through us diffuses the
fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

The battle has been won.
The parade is getting ready to start.

Don't sit on the sidelines watching.

Join the victorious in Christ!

You Already Have It!

You already have it.
What?
I already have it?

YES!

You already have power and authority which is given
through adoption by God into His family.

Once saved, we are adopted and become joint heirs with Christ.

Romans 8:15
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear,
but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out,
"Abba Father".

As an adopted child of God, we have been given
the same rights as the Son.

We have been given a new name and a new identity in Christ.

Most importantly through adoption,
we have been given power and authority to overcome
"all the power of the enemy", Luke 10:19

Jesus had:
authority over everything, Matt 28:18
authority to cast out demons, Mark 1:27
authority to heal the sick, Luke 7:7

As joint heirs with Him, we inherit all that He is.

Every person is from God, but not all have been adopted into the family.

To receive your inheritance you must be adopted into
God's family by receiving Jesus
as Lord and Savior.

Then all that He has is yours!

God Loves Me

GOD Loves me.
God LOVES me.
God Loves ME.
ME!

Notice the emphasis.
There is nothing more powerful than the love of God for He is love. Through Jesus Christ's death and resurrection we are shown the ultimate love God has for us.
So in those times where we feel unloved say out loud
God loves me!

"Saving us is the greatest and most concrete demonstration of God's love,
the definitive display of His grace throughout time and eternity".

David Jeremiah

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
That whoever believes in Him should
not perish but have everlasting life.

Romans 8:37-39
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither
death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers,
nor things present nor things to come,
nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ephesians 2:4-5
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love
with which He loved us, even when we were dead in
trespasses, made us alive together with Christ.

1 John 4:9-10
In this the love of God was manifested toward us,
that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world,
that we might live through Him.  In this
is love, not that we loved God, but that He love us and
sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Contentment

In this day and age contentment is hard to find.  We are bombarded daily with advertisers telling us to buy their product.  Products which will make us younger, prettier, wealthier, and healthier.  We as consumers spend millions on products.  We go into debt, work ourselves into sickness, we need bigger houses and storage to contain our "stuff", yet nothing works.  Contentment is elusive.

Paul writing to the Philippians in 4:10-13 "for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content".  At one time Paul had it all.  He came from a wealthy family in Tarsus.  He was a Roman citizen and a man of privilege.  But his life changed dramatically upon his encounter with Jesus.

After, Paul traveled the country preaching the Gospel.  As he traveled, he relied on others for money, he was jailed, beaten, shipwrecked, arrested again, stoned and finally killed.  Yet, Paul remained content in whatever circumstances he found himself.

Paul was content for he knew who he was in Christ.  We also can know the contentment that comes for Jesus no matter what we have or don't have.

Joseph Prince stated, "Your standing is wrapped up in Jesus".

1 Timothy 6:6-8 AMP  [It is, indeed, a source of immense profit, for] godliness accompanied with contentment (that contentment which is a sense of inward sufficiency) is great and abundant gain.  For I brought nothing into the world, and obviously I cannot take anything out of the world; but if I have food and clothing, with these I shall be content (satisfied).

Philippians 4:19  God meets all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

God Up Close and Personal

Louie Giglio talking about Laminin. The stuff that holds our bodies together.
Colossians 1:17 NIV
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Whether this was God’s intention from the beginning to show us His mysteries unveiled or not.  It is still amazing to know God is in all things.  Not only in us but around us in earth and the universe.

He Compels Us

2 Corinthians 5:14-15
For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus:
that if One died for all,
then all died;
and He died for all, that those who live should
live no longer for themselves,
but for Him who died for them
and rose again.

There are two important points in this passage.
The first and foremost is Jesus died and rose again for ALL people.
He just did not die for a chosen few,
but for everyone who believes in Him.

We make the choice!
It is up to us to decide heaven or hell!

The second point is "the love of Christ compels us."

In the King James Version, the word constraineth is used in place of compels.
Both definitions in today's society have negative connotations.
Basically, they mean to "force or oblige (someone) to do something.

However, in Greek, the word used is "sunecho" and means
"to hold together, confine, to hold fast."

Because of our love for Christ, we are held together by His love.

It is this love that compelled Jesus to go to the cross.
This love that took away our sins.
This love that makes us free.

This love that compels and holds us together with Him.

Know who you are in Christ!

In Christ:

We are a new creation
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

We are created to do good works
Ephesians 2:10
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

We are made alive
1 Corinthians 15:22
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

We are free from condemantion
Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

We are reconciled to God
Ephesians 2:13
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.

We are sons/daughters of God
Galatians 3:26-27
You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

We are justified in the sight of God
Romans 3:24
Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

We are blessed
Ephesians 1:3
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

We have eternal hope
2 Thessalonians 2:10
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope.
